Moderate to Severe Crohn’s Disease Patient
Jill:
My life kind of shrank almost into a bull’s-eye, if you can imagine that. I wasn’t able to go very far because I always needed to have bathroom access. I never knew when my symptoms would strike. I didn’t plan trips. I kept my life very local in that way.
On Screen:
Mark

Interviewer (from off screen):
What adjustments did you make to accommodate your symptoms?
Mark:
So you, you wind up changing your daily routine, quite often, based on how you’re feeling, you know, at that point in time. Even if you feel like a little uncomfortable, like you don’t want to be out and while people are having fun. So it makes you just want to stay at home, anyway.

Melissa:
Because my Crohn’s symptoms weren’t under control, I had to cancel vacations, and miss out on some family events.

I did have to map out, like, where the bathroom was pretty much anywhere that I went.
Jill:
My symptoms were so bad that I started carrying clothes with me at all times in my car.
On Screen:
Niki
Moderate to Severe Crohn’s Disease Patient
Niki:
I absolutely modified my daily life to work around Crohn’s disease. Didn’t take me long to figure out that whatever I put in here as food came out the other end as explosive diarrhea...and I worked very hard at not eating.

Lauren

Lauren:
I would say that when I finally recognized that I couldn’t go about my daily routine was when I decided something needs to be different.
