Lauren
HUMIRA Patient
Lauren:
When I first started HUMIRA, it was in my doctor’s office, and it was, it was scary. It was, at the same time, like a new start for me.
On Screen:
HUMIRA may not be right for everyone.
On Screen:
Amie
HUMIRA Patient
Amie:
I went to my doctor’s office and one of the nurse practitioners actually helped me with the injections.
On Screen:
Do not try to inject HUMIRA yourself until you have been shown the right way to give the injections.
Amie:
I was nervous, but she made me feel at ease.

Niki
HUMIRA Patient
Niki:
The HUMIRA training kit that my nurse and doctor provided me truly set me up for success, because I read the inserts andI practiced at home with the practice Pen. When I was at my induction appointment, I was already ready to go.
On Screen:
Your first injection must be given under the supervision of a health care professional.

Jill
HUMIRA Patient
Jill:
I’m really grateful that I have options in terms of the injection, whether it’s the Pen or the syringe. I prefer the syringe. I can control how quickly or how slowly it goes in.
On Screen:
Refer to the Patient Instructions for Use for more information.
Amie:
I made the choice of the Pen because it automatically injects the needle. It just helps me feel a little bit more at ease.
Interviewer (from off screen):
What’s it like to self-inject? What would you tell another patient who may be nervous?
Jill:
The biggest thing for me starting out was really just getting over my fear of needles; and, over time, I was able to accomplish that. When you have to do this every other week, that fear lessens over time.

Melissa
HUMIRA Patient
Melissa:
The first time on my own, I will never forget it. I stared at that Pen for 30 minutes. I was like, “Okay, I can do this.”
On Screen:
Jim
HUMIRA Patient
Jim:
The first time I gave myself a shot, it was much easier than I expected.
Niki:
I would say the biggest tip that I have is create a routine. Something that works for you.
On Screen:
Sarah
HUMIRA Patient
Sarah:
I liked to put music on in the background because it helped me relax when I was doing the injections.
Jill:
For me, my injection day is on Sunday. It’s a day when my calendar is clear and I’m somewhat relaxed before I’m starting my work week.
On Screen:
Mark
HUMIRA Patient
Mark:
Over time, injecting is just my normal Tuesday, every other Tuesday; it’s just part of my life now.
Lauren:
The emotional part for me was more like, okay, I need to do this. I’m sick and it was motivating for me to keep doing my injections.
