Progress vs Progression
Talking PROOF
Bobby: I think I was in shock for a while because I wasn’t prepared to receive a diagnosis. I was working retail, which means a lot of time walking on the concrete floor. This was very, very painful. I had to drop out of a race that I’d been planning for months. That was tough, ‘cause it was a team event and people were counting on me. Every day I felt, like, was a challenge to get out of bed. I was shocked to find out that I could be doing irreversible damage to my body…

Bobby: … just by having that diagnosis, and it was really important to me to find medication, because each day, each week, each month was doing more and more damage, and I wanted to stop that as quickly as possible.

Penni: So, at this point almost a year had passed. It had progressed to the point, to where I couldn’t dry my own hair, you know, much less get on the back of a motorcycle.

Greg: The worst-case scenario for me when I hear psoriatic arthritis is degenerative, debilitating, permanent joint damage.

Psoriatic arthritis can lead to irreversible joint damage.
Greg: I was very scared that I was not going to be able to treat my current joint pain in time, but also very scared that I was going to continue to develop joint pain in other joints on my body and that would also cause permanent joint damage for me.

Safety Considerations
HUMIRA can lower your ability to fight infections, including tuberculosis. Serious, sometimes fatal infections and cancers, including lymphoma, have happened; as have blood, liver, and nervous system problems, serious allergic reactions, and new or worsening heart failure. Before treatment, get tested for TB. Tell your doctor if you’ve been to areas where certain fungal infections are common, and if you’ve had TB, hepatitis B, are prone to infections, or have flu-like symptoms or sores. Don’t start HUMIRA if you have an infection.
