When Enough Was Enough Video Transcript

[SOPHIA]
My first signs of HS I would say I probably had just started college.

[ADAH]
I was about, I want to say, 12 years old.

[PEDRO]
Things started getting worse as I hit puberty.

[SOPHIA]
I noticed some bumps under my arm and in some other areas

[ADAH]
They were draining, they smelled...

[PEDRO]
It took a little while for me to finally find the right dermatologist to figure this out.

[ADAH]
He’s like “Oh, you have HS.” And I said, “Excuse me?” He goes, “Yeah, you have hidradenitis suppurativa.” And I said, “What?”

[SOPHIA]
Even though I was relieved to know what I had, it was kind of like a punch in the gut.

[ADAH]
I was tired of the same treatment over and over again.

[PEDRO]
I had reached my breaking point.

[SOPHIA]
I remember that I kind of just woke up one day, and I just started to cry on my bed, because I was like there has to be something that can be done.

[ADAH]
If you keep having these abscesses over and over again, that’s a problem. That's the problem.

[PEDRO]
I saw this new doctor and it was like everything was changed. We sat down and we discussed HUMIRA.

[SOPHIA]
My HUMIRA experience has been very positive.

[ADAH]
It’s an improvement that is huge.

[SOPHIA]
If my story can help one other person, then I think it’s worth it. So, here I am today.

Safety Considerations
HUMIRA can lower your ability to fight infections, including tuberculosis. Serious, sometimes fatal infections and cancers, including lymphoma, have happened; as have blood, liver, and nervous system problems, serious allergic reactions, and new or worsening heart failure. Before treatment, get tested for TB. Tell your doctor if you’ve been to areas where certain fungal infections are common, and if you’ve had TB, hepatitis B, are prone to infections, or have flu-like symptoms or sores. Don’t start HUMIRA if you have an infection.
