I think there was a turning point in my disease...I was on a vacation with my family...I needed to get to the bathroom and there were no bathrooms around. So I went to a store and I asked them if I could use their restroom, and they said no. So I had to go find another bathroom, and I didn’t make it.

Even though I was taking the pills and oral medication...I was so sick. That was a pivotal moment. I decided...okay, this needs to be changing.

Did I have those moments? I had plenty of those moments. When you’re experiencing a lot of symptoms...mentally it messes with you, ‘cause now you’re saying, what’s gonna happen?

I thought that I was in control, I thought that I was controlling my symptoms...it was clear that I could no longer do that.

And you have to take a step back and just look at yourself and just realize that’s not, you know, how things are supposed to be.

I knew that my, my illness, my Crohn’s, was starting to get the best of me and I was trying really hard to stay positive. And I knew that, I needed to, ya know, try and do something else.
