Self-injection
HUMIRA can be injected by you or a caregiver in the convenience of your own home. It usually needs to be used once every 2 weeks.
Do not try to inject HUMIRA yourself until you have been shown the right way to give the injections. If your doctor decides that you may be able to give your injections at home, you should receive training on the right way to prepare and inject HUMIRA. Your first injection should be given under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
One of the most common side effects with HUMIRA is injection site reactions such as redness, rash, swelling, itching or bruising. These symptoms usually will go away within a few days.
