What you should know about JIA
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a term for a group of childhood disorders
characterized by joint inflammation (arthritis) beginning before 16 years of age.
JIA includes the childhood arthritis known as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA).
As a parent of a child with JIA, rest assured you're not alone. JIA is the most
common form of arthritis in children. JIA, though, can affect each child differently.
The disease can range from a mild short-term condition causing stiffness and minor
inflammation to a severe disease that causes serious permanent joint and tissue
damage.
What you should know about HUMIRA and polyarticular JIA
HUMIRA is used to reduce the signs and symptoms of moderate to severe polyarticular
juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) in children 4 years of age and older. HUMIRA
can be used alone or with methotrexate or with certain other medicines.
